Today's mobile devices are not only more pervasive than ever before but they're incredibly equipped compared to just two years ago. GPS, high resolution displays, accelerometers, compasses, and cameras are the current standard and benchmark for future devices. It's the job of designers and developers to define how this new tech can enhance our experiences in a mobile context.

Designing a mobile application that augments a persons environment and social experience. Take advantage of the new functionality mentioned above. Show the various steps involved in your application and its usage in the wild.

Research

Use Google, Wikipedia, Yahoo, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Delicious, and the like to research augmented reality. What is it? What does it mean? How is society changing because of it. How is the gaming industry adapting to leverage it? The more you understand this tech and who's using it the better you'll be able to devise a useful application. While it's important to design for others, it's equally if not more important to design something you want to use.
